My life on a fridge

Ten years of my life are documented through stories related to the contents of my refrigerator. The final print is 3' x 6'. Objects attached to the fridge are related to stories. The magnets and general grid give structure to the data. I wrote each story by hand on various materials; brown lunch bags, maps, and leaves. After affixing everything to the 'fridge, I took several hundred photos and montaged them together in Photoshop.

Close up of years 18, 19 and 20.

In-process photo. On the right is a print of a rough draft. I went through two rounds of writing stories, affixing them to the fridge and taking photos.

Rough sketch created in InDesign. Given the personal content of stories, this layout and 'stockiness' of the photo seemed a little cold and clinical. I quickly switched to a more hand-crafting aesthetic.

Picture of my first sketches for this project. Initially, I focused location and age as data sets. However, I felt this really didn't distinguish me as a person and would not really be that interesting to an audience. I quickly moved on to thoughts of food.
